This jacket really has it all, perhaps that's why it's so incredibly popular. Named after an Antarctic community, it is as you might expect, designed to cope with uncompromising conditions.
The outer shell is seam sealed ensuring it is both waterproof and breathable. This is ideal as a protection for you and for nature's best insulator – goose down. 550 Fill power down throughout the jacket adds to the myriad of other features that retain your body heat to ensure that no matter how chill it gets you'll not be the one who shivers.
The zip detachable hood is down insulated and comes with a stud attached faux fur edging to help break up that stiff winter wind blowing across your face, this can be tightened by cinch cords at the micro fleece lined chin. The cuffs are velcro adjustable for a close fit and there are cinch cords at waist (hidden inside the chest pockets) and bottom hem to further enclose the parka against the chill. A double storm baffle on the easy slide main zip means the cold can't get through that way either.
Pocket, pockets and more pockets! Two pockets at the chest, whilst at hip level the two pockets are actually four, being two zipped hand warmer pockets with micro fleece lining accessible from the side and two cargo pockets with velcro flap closure from above.
An arm pocket for storing your ski lift pass complete the outer. As for the inner, there are three pockets including a zipped chest pocket for valuables and two large mesh dump pockets if you want to keep your water bottle and sandwiches from freezing.
All this is finished with The North Face's iconic logo embroidered on front chest and back shoulder.
