The SIGG water bottle stands for Swiss tradition, precision and high quality. Manufactured with passion for perfection and a thirst for new ideas since 1908.
Sigg is a Swiss company started by Ferdinand Sigg and Xavier Kung, producing kitchenware, electrical appliances and bottles from aluminium.
In 1916 the company moved to new premises in Fravenfield, Eastern Switzerland and just decided to concentrate on making aluminium bottles which today are known the world over by their iconic, classic shape in numerous designs and colours. The Classic Sigg bottle is now a permanent feature in the New York Museum of Modern Art!
From the 1980's, Sigg started making the first plain coloured bottles and then moved on to multicoloured designs in 1992 and also introduced their unique Kid's Bottle Top.
Impact-extruded aluminium Sigg bottles are popular with mountaineers, hikers and campers and used in their unlined versions for fuel storage, but Sigg later decided to discontinue these and concentrate on drink bottle varieties only. All Sigg bottles manufactured after August 2008 use the EcoCare Liner which is made from BPA free, Phthalate free ingredients and in 2013 Sigg introduced stainless steel into their bottle collection for hot and cold beverages, allowing contents encased in a double wall vacuum to stay insulated for a number of hours.
In 2014 Sigg started making high grade, 100% recyclable polypropylene bottles- these are durable, safe and Eco friendly, moving onto heat resistant glass wide mouth varieties the following year. Sigg's collection now include food boxes, accessories as well as sport and outdoor bottle designs.
