Feel the warmth the instant you slide into the Mountain Equipment Men's Citadel Jacket. An uncompromising high tech synthetic jacket with serious insulation for a fully functioning belay jacket that's not afraid of the wet.
Whether you want protection from winds whistling down Glen Coe in December or whipping through Euston Station as you stand waiting for the sleeper train to take you there, the Mountain Equipment Men's Citadel Jacket is ideal.
Loaded with Primaloft Gold 200g in the body and 170g in the arms and hood its the next stage up from Mountain Equipment's Fitzroy jacket.
Mountain Equipment developed the EXL system to maximise the effectiveness of their renowned sleeping bags and have incorporated the same technology into the Citadel Jacket. Using elasticated stitching on the inside, the jacket hugs your body ensuring the insulation is used to its maximum effect and dramatically reduces dead air spaces that are thermally inefficient. This close fit is achieved without restricting movement or making the jacket feel uncomfortably tight around the waist.
Dual system cuffs, that are both elasticated and velcro fastened, they are close but also expand and contract as you move your arms around. This adds to the already high moverability from the pre-shaped and articulated arms.
As you would expect from mountaineering experts the hood is helmet compatible, the crown pull at the back can be operated one handed and the peak is wired to give it form and protect you from spoondrift.
The internal dump pocket comes complete with clip to suspend your hydration pack on, keeping it stable, insulated and close at hand. With a velcro tab to secure the hydration tube on the internal collar.
The second internal pocket is a zipped mesh that easily accommodates an OS map and is where you'll find the jackets own stuff sack.
The pair of external Napoleon chest pockets aid quick and easy one handed, reach across, access. Lower down are a pair of zipped hand warming pockets.
When its time to stop watching YouTube and get out there and do it for yourself, you'll be well prepared in Mountain Equipment gear. One of the leading British brands, with over 50 years of pursuing excellence. If you get good enough, maybe you'll be the star of one of their award winning videos.
