Withstands the elements, well made, light, packs down well and easily, looks good, easy to wear and excellent service into the bargain.

This is a double review, firstly of e-outdoor. I have never dealt with this firm before but would not hesitate to do so again. I needed to return the first jacket I received simply to exchange it for a larger size. This all happened with great efficiency, helped by friendly staff when I phoned and I received the bigger jacket in just three days from sending back the old one. The price was excellent, too! Secondly, I am very pleased with the jacket itself. I have not tried it outside in wet weather yet, but I have never had problems with Mountain Equipment Goretex jackets (of which I have owned several over the years.) The jacket is extremely lightweight and I expect it to be ideal for alpine hut-to-hut backpacking tours, one of the main reasons I bought it. Unusually, it is cut long for a light jacket and I am hoping to be able to wear it over shorts without needing over-trousers. My only criticism concerns the ME sizing table which I think is misleading -- I needed one size larger than this table would indicate and I would advise a potential purchaser to bear this in mind when ordering
