I invested many hours in reading reviews from owners of similar Jackets from names such as RAB and Mountain Equipment etc so I hope this is of some help to others. I opted for Montane as I have several other items in their range and have found them all to be excellent quality. I will say that while I have no intention to scale a mountain in the near future, standing on the touchline watching my sons football team in February can be a bitter experience with horizontal sleet and biting winds. This jacket is like wearing a duvet with an electric blanket. Wearing only a thin tee shirt underneath, I wore this jacket in minus 4 conditions but with a wind chill of probably minus 8 - 10 and I had no sensation of cold whatsoever. In fact after some moderate walking I became too warm if anything... if its warmth you are after look no further. Be aware that there is obviously some bulk to the jacket because its full of down and air but so what... cannot fault it in any way. I opted for my normal size of Large and it compares to other Montane products for fit etc.
