The Mens K7 Down Jacket is a serious, highly water resistant down jacket with full box wall construction for alpinists pushing hard and staying warm.

“You're either too hot or too cold on a mountain” Mountaineering legend, John Barry. Make sure you're in the hot category with the Mountain Equipment Men's K7 Down Jacket. An uncompromising garment for people who are serious about staying warm, whatever the situation. Designed with EXL elasticated stitching in both the body and the hood, this will expand to allow extra layers underneath or contract to hug your body for maximum heat retention without over stretching and thereby reducing the effectiveness of the premium grade goose down fill. Windproof and highly water repellent with Drilite Loft II outer, you can be snug against almost anything the weather throws at you, up the ice capped Alpine mountains or down the wind swept valley.

Incredible Jacket with some small things that leave me less than 100% satisfied. The good: Super Warm. I lived my entire life in Australia up until a year ago when I move to the north Sweden. So lets just say that not only am I not used to the cold, but I hate it. I really really feel the cold. So I've been wearing this jacket with nothing but a T-shirt underneath. In the last two weeks its rained a few times, snowed a lot, its been super windy and the temp has gone from say about +/- 1C to -11C today. Never felt cold once. I've never felt the wind. Rain just beaded and dropped off, the jacket dried in no time and kept is warmth the entire time. The cold just doesn't get in anywhere. No cold spots. Not even today when it was -11C; again wearing nothing but a T-Shirt, there was a fairly icy wind, and I still didn't feel the cold. A second point which I think is important. The hood is brilliant, never had a jacket with such a warm and well constructed hood that still has very good visibility when you close it up and manages to keep my head warm. Somehow my whole face, even the parts not covered were also quite warm. So as far as keeping you warm and dry, this jacket ticks all the boxes. The bad: Main zip is impossible and the cuffs are irritating. The main front zip is so hard to work. I have to fiddle with it far too long every time I put this jacket on. No Idea if its a bad zip design or just this jacket. Id say its a design issue because once you get it going, its super smooth and sturdy etc. The cuffs on this jacket are not elasticated enough if you ask me and the velcro fasteners I find very irritating trying to get a comfortable but adequate seal. I also wish the jacket was long enough to cover my backside too. It does pull down over my backside but it doesn't stay there. Its not designed to do that so cant complain. Just something I like and wanted and should have considered more carefully rather than looking at a picture and taking a punt. UPDATE: Just wanted to add another star because I discovered that there is nothing wrong with the zips so long as you use the loops attached to the zips and dont hold the actual zip, they all do up and undo super smoothly.
