The choktoi is ideal for use on blustery mountain ridges.

The Choktoi is one of Berghaus' s most purchased windproof fleeces.

Great as a stand-alone, casual jacket but is more at home on blustery mountain ridges. Berghaus have used Windstopper Goretex to keep the wind out and your core temperature nice and regular.

The membrane is highly breathable which is great when working hard in this jacket while walking and climbing. The outer micro fleece has a DWR water repellent finish so would cope with rain showers or light snowy conditions. The lofty grid fleece backer on the inside maximizes warmth by trapping a layer of warm air and there's fabric on the shoulders and hips for enhanced durability when wearing rucksacks.

The two zipped hand pockets are nice and high too so easier access if wearing a pack or harness. There's a chest pocket and also one on the sleeve which adds some nice detail.

The sleeves are shaped with inner stretch cuffs to cut down any draft and the adjustable drawcord hem ensures a good fit all round.

Berghaus is a tried and tested, reliable brand that we have stocked in our retail stores and on our website for years. Well known for their waterproofs in great technical fabrics and membranes, there's plenty to choose from in our men and women's ranges. Have a browse at the Berghaus collection.

This is an exceptionally well made jacket, nice styling and very warm and comfortable. Not had the chance to wear this out on the hills yet, but in normal wear it is excellent in the cold windy weather.

Love this jacket. Got it for a great price for a gore-tex, and although havent put it through a thorough test yet, have enjoyed wearing it for easy walks so far in the snow and cold. Pockets are well placed, zips easily accessible and appear of good quality, and ability to move whilst wearing the jacket is unimpeded. Like the stow-away hood into the collar as well - all similar to my last gore-tex which I was happy with until its waterproof-ness faded and is a bit filthy now. Only minor downsides are that I find I cant zip the front zip to the top comfortably if wearing a scarf (only an issue in really cold weather) - this is not a fault in the jacket as I believe it has been designed this way to make the neck a snug fit and therefore more waterproof/warmer. But scarves are more comfy - will try combinations of thinner scarves or purchase a snood and see if that helps. Also - I didnt check properly beforehand, but there is no internal zip to be able to zip in a thermal layer, making this really just a good quality shell-layer jacket. Theres plenty of room in the jacket to wear thermal layers so its not an issue in that sense, and most of the time I wouldnt want a thermal layer zipped in, but sometimes its nice, or at least to have the option to zip a layer in, just for the really cold times of the year. In all honesty though, I doubt I would have let either of the slight downsides stop me from buying it - theyre hardly worth worrying about, but then thered be no point in writing an honest review. All in all, a great jacket. Love it in red!
