This innovative footwear company was founded by Martin Keen in 2003 from Alameda, California, U.S and its headquarters are currently in Portland, Oregon, U.S. They currently operate from 4 areas around the world: Oregon, US, Toronto, Canada, Rotterdam, Netherlands and Tokyo in Japan.
Keen created an entirely new category of footwear with the emergence of the Newport sandal with a distinctive rubber toe bumper which offers protection to the wearer whilst in and out of water, enabling people to take sandals places they haven't been able to go to before.
This sandal became incredibly popular during its first year in both men and women's fitting and when in 2004 a tsunami hit the Indian ocean, Keen blew their entire 1 million dollar advertising budget on disaster relief, realising that as a new company they wanted to create a culture of giving back and doing the right thing. This has continued to this day with building projects to help military veterans, boot libraries and lots of conservation effort.
Over the next few years, Keen expanded their footwear range to include utility work boots in 2010 as well as hiking and travel shoes and boots for adults and kids.
We love Keen here at e-outdoor and like their fresh, new ideas like the Uneek 02 sandal and the colours they choose to compliment any wardrobe. Feel free to contact our Sales Team on 01327 312 757 for advice as some of Keen's styles are sized smaller than average.
