The Jetboil Joule burner system has an inverted mounting for the canister, this plus the fuel delivery system via the burner means that the Joule is very well suited for use in cold temperatures. It can operate at temperatures as low as -12º C, so it is useful for alpinists and cold weather expeditions. The pressure regulator enables the user to control the heat, so that a useful quantity of snow can be melted and brought to the boil quickly, then brought to the simmer for cooking. Like all other Jetboil systems, all the items pack into the pot that fits neatly into a backpack, and only weighs 790g.
