I've had several pairs of Salomon boots. They're always top quality, but expensive. These were £78 so I couldn't resist them. Comfortable straight from the box. Buy a pair.

I thought I would wait a month before reviewing so as I could give as honest an opinion as possible and not just rate the boots without "test driving". The review is based on January 2015, the weather is cold, most mornings are hard frost and most afternoons the ground is soft and muddy. These are boots that I wear every day, twice a day to walk the dogs so they do get a lot of use and very little time to dry off! I also dont really look after them very well, I dont scrape the mud off or clean them. So I am pleased to say that I am very happy, I have had no issues, they keep me warn and dry. I do walk in quite muddy puddles and so far no water ingress, although in fairness the ground has yet to become flooded. I do feel that they will be more water tight than my previous boots (North Face GTX) which finally gave up after 2 years (about 700 hours) when the heal came unstuck. The way that the laces bring everything close so as no gaps appear for water to penetrate is a much better method. Honest review is you get what you pay for and these knock spots off all the cheaper brands. Also bought my old North Face boots from e-outdoor and am really happy with their prices and also important their delivery using Interlink so as you know more or less delivery time - unlike Yodel who turn up willy nilly and through parcels into bushes.
