Getting a full day out in the hills can require a very chilly pre-dawn start. Setting off cold is not a good idea - risking strained muscles before you even get going properly. That said, carting several layers of warm clothing in your sack for the rest of the day can be a real downer, so its time to go down - down insulation that is. With the Mountain Equipment Men's Dewline Hooded Jacket you can stay warm, warm, warm till the sun breaks through and your core temperature rises, then strip it off, scrunch it into its own internal pocket and stash it in your pack or clip it to your belt and you're free to steam ahead, knowing you've a windproof available if the whispering breeze turns to a walloping wind.
With its unmistakeable sheen the Men's Dewline Hooded Jacket is wrapped in Mountain Equipment's unique Helium 30 fabric. Densely woven of fine denier yarns it is down proof, incredibly breathable and doubly tear resistant, both through its inherent strength and its super smooth anti snag surface.
Beneath this effective outer layer the insulation is Codex - ethically sourced - water resistant pure down with a 700 fill power rating. The stitched through baffle construction keeps the down well distributed preventing cold spots.
Internally the jacket boasts an OS map sized pocket that doubles as the jacket's stuff sack.
The hood is insulated and has a three point adjustment feature as well as being helmet compatible.
As with the hood, the cuffs are Lycra-bound and the zipped hand warmer pockets are long, allowing either high or low entry depending on the position of your pack belt.
Mountain equipment have been getting us from the bottom to the top of mountains across the world for over fifty years. Minimum fuss, no nonsense, just well thought out kit that delivers again and again.
