The North Face Borod Hoodie Review

The Borod Hoodie is a mid-weight hoodie designed for climbing or active outdoor adventures.

The polyester, elastane fabric gives the hoodie lots of flexibility so that it moves with the wearer, this gives a great sense of freedom and confidence when reaching out for hand holds whenever necessary.

I tried a medium size hoodie, it was a close fit but not inhibiting in anyway flexing with all my movements. It is a good length, the waist rises up minimally when at full stretch. The arms are quite long leaving some excess material when not stretching it is a little bit ‘clunky’ but not inhibiting in any way.

I was surprised how large the two hand pockets were, a map would easily fit in them. The Napoleon pocket is quite small just about large enough for a small gadget like a Garmin.

The hoodie is not waterproof or windproof but the gridded fleece interior is warm, providing just enough insulation when active in chilly weather or as a mid-layer on colder days.

The hood is a close comfortable fit but the elastic rim does not pull the hood in close around the face.

Comfortable to wear and easy to slip into a backpack. I think it is a useful layer for people who are out and about in cooler weather who need freedom to move their upper body.
