If you are looking for a fleece to wear in not too extreme weather conditions. Because you like walking, or just for general wear. Here are two to chose from, from The North Faces Glacier range. Simple, non-technical, these straightforward fleeces are ideal to keep you warm against that ‘chill in the air’. Either can be worn as a mid layer under a waterproof, or as an outer layer.
The North Face Glacier and the Glacier 100 are two fleeces from The North Face, that are both made from high quality Polartec Micro fleece. They are warm, light, and easy to slip on when you need that bit of extra warmth. The fabric is thin so that both the Glacier and the Glacier 100 fit easily under a waterproof, to help keep you warm on wet days.
100 Glacier 1/4
This is a very straight forward fleece, it is very light 290g, it is soft to the skin. The cuffs and hem are reinforced to protect against wear. The front zip is 3/4 length to give that added temperature control. Retailing at £35, it does the job.
Glacier Delta 1/4
The Delta is a little bit heavier than the 100, it is 330g. This is because of the overlay at the shoulders, sleeves and pocket. That provides an added robustness to these areas of the fleece. The cuffs are elasticated but the hem is not reinforced. There is a secure-zip pocket on the left arm, for small items like a phone. The front zip like the 100 is 3/4 length. This fleece costs a little bit more than the 100, it retails at £45.
