Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Packed with pockets for all the essentials you need out of doors, the Men’s Hawthorn Jacket is a surefire waterproof winner. A HyVent fabric gives you reliable protection from the elements, shrugging off downpours and snow flurries while allowing moisture to be wicked away from the body so you stay comfortably dry. Inside there’s ample 550 fill goose down to keep you toasty even when temperatures fall below freezing, and a detachable faux fur trim around the detachable hood ensures you stay snug around the head, too. Slanted chest and cargo pockets and stitching detail give the jacket a progressive style that suits cold city streets as well as snowbound ski resorts.
