Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Karrimor Whirlwind Weathertite shoes offer an amazing set of features and a good performance to match. Synthetic leather and mesh on the upper with a waterproof lining from Weathertite. You will have comfy dry feet as well as good breathability from the mesh, plus excellent durability from the synthetic leather. Standard foam foot bed for instant step-in comfort and support which are removable and machine washable. They can be used in conjunction with standard volume adjusters where required.

Weathertite is a Karrimor's specified waterproof and breathable fabric. First introduced in 1948 and undergoes continual improvement in line with technological advancements to provide durable water-proofness and breath ability. Footwear weathertite is a laminate used in a bootie's construction and offers an excellent overall performance.

Frameflex mid-sole technologies provide 3 dimensional support, rigidity and flex throughout the natural cycle of movement in the walking or running gait. Frameflex are specific to every size in the range and for both mens and ladies lasts, why compromise? Different Frameflex technologies provide different levels of function and are utilised differently depending on the design and end use of the product.

Frameflex Tenacity multi-sport mid and low cut shoes where 2 season stiffness and flex is required. Engineered as a separate phylon compound within the mid-sole to minimise weight, enhance cushioning and aid support.
