Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Tackle fells, dales, hills and mountains with this classic Women's Explorer Trek GORE-TEX® Walking Boots. Comfort and performance are combined, thanks to our GORE-TEX® waterproof protection and suede and mesh upper. The perfect fit is guaranteed with the adjustable lacing system, allowing you to easily adjust and adapt to your surroundings.

Maintain maximum comfort no matter how hard you pound with a PU midsole, and Ergonomic Holding System providing excellent and durable cushioning and support. Achieve high levels of climate comfort as the GORE-TEX® membrane prevents water entry and the mesh upper allows your foot to breathe.

Berghaus Explorer Trek GTX Womens Boot Features:

  • Suede Upper offering comfort, durability and support.
  • Lining: GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort Footwear Lining.
  • Sole unit incorporates Asylum/PU midsole providing excellent, durable cushioning.
  • Insole: Comfort Fibre
  • The foot is held to the platform by the EHS™ (Ergonomic Holding System) giving a high level of comfort and support.
  • Weight: approx 599g

EHS™ - If the foot fits snugly in the shoe, it lessens foot-roll improving both comfort and grip. EHS™ distributes the closure tension from the laces creating a more stable shoe that holds the foot in place.
