Ideal for travelling, camping or holidays, the Gelert silk sleeping bag liner can add 2 to 5°c when used inside your sleeping bag by trapping an extra layer of air.
Silk or Microfleece liner?
Two common choices for sleeping bag liners are silk or microfleece. Both will add a similar amount of extra warmth but vary as follows:
Silk:
- Lays out much like a bed sheet, so feels roomier
- Smoother and less 'snaggy' on rough skin
- Packs to about half the size of microfleece
- Lighter than microfleece
- Quicker drying
- Adds 2°+
Microliner (micro fleece):
- Stretchy
- Mildly 'fleecy' inner feel
- Larger pack size than silk (size of a large mug)
- Slightly heavier than silk
- Snugger fit than silk (fits more like a sleeping bag does
- Cheaper
- Adds 2°+
