Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Switch effortlessly between trousers and shorts while hiking through changeable weather in the Men’s Trekker Convertible Pant. Rely on the full alpine-fit pant and its rugged yet stretchy nylon construction in cool conditions, then zip off the legs at the thigh and store them in the purpose-built elastic belt loops at the back when the sun comes out. Features include cuffs that roll up for further flexibility; front, side and back zippered pockets for storing outdoor essentials; a constructed waistband for a secure fit; and crotch gusset for maximum freedom of motion. Easy to care for and quick to dry, reach for this pant when you need versatility but don’t want to add weight to your pack.
