Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.

The North Face Men's Nuptse Jacket is the one to choose if you want style and warmth. It has been generously stuffed with a phenomenal 700 fill down in order to deliver reliable warmth in brutal weather conditions and it has been designed with stitch through construction to prevent the down bunching.

The emergency nylon hood is neatly stowed away into the collar. The jacket is made using rip-stop nylon that has been treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) and for added protection and when true waterproof outer is needed the Nuptse coat is fully zip-in compatible with North Face waterproof shells. The 700 fill down is easily compressed to stowe away into an internal pocket, which makes a convenient, comfortable camping pillow. The high down quickly re-inflates when unpacked. The North Face Nuptse is light and versatile enough to be easily carried or packed into a rucksack.

The North Face have thought of everything and the shoulders of this men's jacket have a double layer of taffeta to provide added durability against rucksack straps, ropes and ski scuffs. The cinch-cord on the hem enables you to lock in warmth, ensuring that this is a reliable, lightweight men's coat designed for convenience and warmth. The North Face Men's Nuptse Jacket takes its name from the Himalayan peak, Nupste. Nuptse peak lies just over a mile South-west of Mt. Everest, so you can trust the heritage and experience that underpins this jacket's potential.

"A quality item (as is all TNF) & incredibly warm, I especially like the inside pocket & hood the Nuptse2 does not have, but the Nuptse1 comes up very small for a TNF garment therefore I ended up purchasing a Nuptse2 that comes up longer length & a little more fitted. Both great garments with different fits & perfect right now (snowy Feb) zipped in my GTX All Terrain outer. "
