Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

The Benvane main selling point is its versatility and can be worn in all season depending on the need of layering that you require or still don't require. Its outer layer is made of Gore-Tex performance shell which is designed to provide breathable comfort and durably waterproof and windproof protection making it ideal to use in a wide range of outdoor activities. The inner fleece is made of AF fabric which is a tightly woven, synthetic fabric that will provide you with excellent insultion retantion properties, good packability and a high level of of wind resistance. It also is highly breathable and has been treated with a DWR finish that is durable even if you do your washing at home. Despite its many layers, the Benvane has been designed with the active person in mind and you will find that none of the layer will restrict your movements.
