Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

The Women’s Hooded Elysium Jacket is stuffed with luxuriously warm 700 fill down insulation wrapped in a durable, lightweight Pertex Quantum shell. Pertex Quantum boasts the best strength to weight ratio of all the ripstop nylon Pertex fabrics. Designed for cold conditions without incorporating excess weight and bulk, the Elysium features a lofty 700 fill down insulation on the body for optimal warmth and PrimaLoft One insulation fills out the form fitting hood and side panels. Part of the Summit Series collection, this performance fit thermal jacket is built for action and optimal mobility on the mountain. This is an ideal companion for cold climbing, early winter skiing or as a ski touring layer that packs down small.
