Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

'Terra Nova Duolite 2 Person Tent'


The unique pole design means that the inner sits well back from the porch to provide greater protection from wet weather, making this tent more suitable for 3-4 season backpacking use. Lightweight DAC poles and a semi-geodesic structure add to stability whilst meticulous design of the inner has led to as much functional space as possible being created. Optional extras include the Duolite Tarp that is purchased separately and can be attched to the Duolite to provide extra protection for the door area. You can also "upgrade" to a Duolite Tourer with the purchase of a Duolite Tourer Flysheet.
