Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Vibram Five Fingers Bikila LS Mens

The Bikila LS has been designed for athletes with a slightly wider foot or higher instep as it has the unique Quick Release toggled lace system that allows for a wider collar opening to accommodate a wider foot.

Ideal for rectifying over/under pro-nation in running styles, to return the wearer to their "natural" standing and running position, the way nature intended.  The upper is constructed using a Coconut Active Carbon fabric with added anti scuff fabric at the toe tops to reduce the risk of damage that could be caused by rocks and tree stumps.

An athletic padded collar and topline, 3M reflective surfaces, and abrasion resistant PU toe protection add to Bikila LS’ road worthy design. The defining feature of the Bikila LS’ is its closed quick lace system assuring a custom fit for a wider range of foot types.

The Five Fingers Bikila LS is Machine Washable. Air dry away from sun and source of heat.

"After many hours of Internet research I finally decided on the VFF Bikila. I have not owned any Five Fingers before, I used the measurement chart on the Vibram site to get an idea of the size I needed. The first ones arrived quickly but after trying them on I found my big toe was just a little too tight against the end so ordered the next size up. When they arrived the fit was much better, the first ones were returned easily for a refund, great customer service. So having had these a couple of weeks now I have worn them round the house, then progressed to wearing them to work (and generated a lot of interest from colleagues!) and finally have been outside for a couple of walks. I will get to running in a week or two, slowly slowly is the way it seems with Five Fingers! It takes a bit of time to get used to having something between your toes but you soon get used to it. They seem well made, nice and light and quite flexible. I found them more comfortable with some light weight Injinji toe socks. Overall I am very happy, good price and customer service, and as an authorised Vibram retailer I know I have the real thing. Bring on the walking and running!"

"Great shoes - delivered really fast. These shoes provide a great feeling- dont be put off by the first couple of tries putting them on. word of warning for any old heel strikers like myself- do not over do it when running for the first time. There are calf muscles you will not have used before- I normally run around 8 miles but in these you need to build up again. Although the way I see this- I am learning the correct running technique and getting to see the improvement all over again as I beat distances each time I go out. Buy these and you will fall in love with barefoot running."
