Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Superbly designed technical fleece jacket for climbing and mountaineering. We have used a combination of Polartec fabrics to maximise warmth and comfort. Having a hood on a microfleece really does add to it's versatility.

Mountain Equipment Mens Shroud Jacket Features:

  • Polartec classic 100M is light, warm and quick to dry.
  • Polartec Power Stretch with 4-way stretch for active comfort.
  • Grown-on hood.
  • Active cut with pre-shaped sleeves.
  • Flatlocked seams throughout for next-to-skin comfort.
  • YKK reversed out centre front zipper.
  • 2 hand pockets can be accessed even when wearing a harness or carrying a rucksack.
  • Lycra bound cuffs and integrated thumb loops.
  • Adjustable drawcord hem.
