Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

'Petzl Tikka Plus 2 Head Torch'


Headlamp with 1 high-output LED, 1 red LED and five lighting modes (three continuous and two strobe)

The TIKKA PLUS² headlamp integrates two light sources for versatility: one white, high-output LED and one red LED. The white LED delivers 50 lumens in maximum mode and lights up to 35m. In economic mode, it can reach a burn-time of 140 hours. The red LED provides spare lighting to preserve night vision or to become a strobe light for increased safety, for example in an urban environment, etc. The TIKKA PLUS² can be used with lithium batteries to decrease weight or increase performance in cold weather.

Petzl Tikka Plus 2 Head Torch Features:

  • Versatile and powerful

  • type of lighting (white or red) is selected by pressing for two seconds on the push-button (the last mode used remains in the memory until the next use)

"Invaluable for winter dog-walking! Much brighter having the single LED on this, compared to my old Petzl which has four small ones. Also useful having the red LED, so you dont mess-up your night vision! As always, great price and great service from e-outdoor!"
