Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

'Garmin eTrex H GPS Unit'


This compact yellow GPS companion fits comfortably in the palm of your hand for simple navigation. Easy to operate lightweight navigator. WAAS-enabled. Rugged, waterproof case.

The 12 channel receiver quickly picks up satellite signals and holds onto them, even in extreme conditions. It has an internal antenna, so it still fits easily in your pocket. The eTrex H memorises up to 10 tracks and 1,536 points of interest, making it the ideal hiking companion. Internal menu languages: English, German, Danish, Norwegian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Swedish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian and Croatian.

Built for Adventure

You can operate your eTrex with just one hand using five buttons, which are located on either side of the eTrex within easy reach of your fingers. Thanks to its bright yellow case, the eTrex is easy to find in your boat or backpack.
