Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Generous Primaloft® Eco insulation and a plush shearling lining wrap feet and lower legs in luxurious warmth, and a stylish suede and leather upper adds comprehensive waterproof protection. The footbed is Northotic™-engineered for supreme stability and support, while underneath a TNF Winter Grip™ compound and temperature-sensitive Ice Pick™ lugs deliver grippy traction, biting further into the snow and ice as you need it. A full-length waxed lace and faux fur trim on the collar complete the design on a boot that is perfect for women who see no need to compromise either style or substance, however cold it gets.

"They are warm and they look nice, but they arent to be worn in the rain because Ive nearly fallen over a few times on wet surfaces with these. Surfaces which trainers and Dr Martens seem to be fine on! As these are sold with "ice-pick" technology for gripping on ice, I am quite disappointed."
