Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

'The North Face Boys Nuptse Jacket'


Filled with heat insulating 600 fill down, the Nuptse is a serious cold weather addition to any young boy’s wardrobe. The tough nylon shell has a DWR finish to aid water repellency. The internally baffled full zip keeps out drafts as do the adjustable Velcro wrist tabs. The Nuptse is stowable in the chest pocket so it’s easy to pop into a backpack when the mercury is fluctuating. Its zip-in and snap-in compatible with selected garment. Parents can send their little ones to school, out to play or onto the ski slopes knowing they are thermally secure in the Nuptse Jacket.
