Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Trusted on countless expeditions for its resilient protection, the Men’s Mountain Guide Jacket is a mountaineering classic. It features a two-layer Gore-Tex Performance Shell, engineered to provide a comprehensive barrier against water and wind while maintaining breathability to keep you sweat-free and comfortable. The hood is fully adjustable and compatible with helmets, and an elastic wind skirt and hem cinchcord ensure a tight and secure fit to lock out snow flurries or driving rain. Pit-zips open up to enhance airflow around the body when the temperatures pick up a little, and a slew of pockets include dedicated space for a water bottle. The jacket is part of the Summit Series range, developed by and for serious athletes in extreme conditions.
