Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

Stay comfortably defended against the cold and wet in the Men’s Snowdonia Insulated Parka from The North Face. This winter jacket features advanced HyVent technology in its tough, abrasion-busting shell, fending off rain and splashes while also remaining breathable enough to keep wearers comfortable. Warmth comes from a dose of Heatseeker insulation, while two core vents promote temperature regulation when you work up a sweat on your hike or other exertions. At the top, an adjustable, removable hood keeps the head and neck defended, while at the bottom a wind skirt repels icy gusts. Further features include a Velcro-closure stormflap, adjustable cuff tabs and ample pocket space. This is a dependable parka for a range of winter activities.
