Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

The popular Evolution Triclimate is our best selling ladies jacket. A sporty three-in-one waterproof with a HyVent breathable exterior and a soft fleece interior jacket. It has an adjustable hood with a single hand cinchcord and stows into the collar which is brushed lined for added comfort. Stylish and totally flexible. If you need to pack just one versatile jacket for your adventures in the wet, snow, wind and cold, choose the Triclimate. Engineered to be all things to all snow sports purists and to cover a wide range of temperatures, conditions and activity levels.

HYVENT FABRIC

Hyvent is a superior, waterproof, breathable technology utilizing a polyurethane (PU) coating that consists of a tri-component mutli-layer formula for waterproof protection, moisture permeability and durability.

HyVent technology delivers the best waterproof/breathable technology for the outdoor enthusiast, who doesn't want to pay a premium cost.

North Face incorporated this technology by utilizing a polyurethane (PU) coating that consists of a tri-component multi-layer formula for waterproof protection, moisture permeability, and durability. This technology was lab tested in The North Face quality assurance lab to ensure the best possible durability and function. The average breathability achieved using HyVent is 650g/m2/24 hours on the Moisture Vapor Transfer Rate (MVTR) scale*.

To test the level of waterproofness, North Face subjected HyVent® garments to 20 wash cycles, where garments retained an average of more than 60 PSI on the waterproofing Mullens Test.

In addition to lab testing, HyVent garments have also been heavily field-tested -
