Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

'Regatta Guideway Mid Junior Boot'


The Junior Guideway Mid Boot, from Regatta, features a breathable upper mesh and an Isotex waterproof and breathable seam sealed with breathable internal membrane bootee liner.

Regatta Guideway Mid Junior Boot Features:

  • PU nubuck and mesh upper
  • Water resistant Atl treated upper material
  • Isotex waterproof and breathable footwear- seam sealed with breathable internal membrane bootee liner
  • Deep padded collar and tongue
  • Rubberised toe and heel bumpers
  • Comfort footbed
  • Lightweight rubber outsole featuring internal EVA shock pads

All of Regatta waterproof leather styles are specially treated with Atl- Water Resistant Treated Leathers. This enhances the level of water repellency and also offers stain resistance to help keep footwear clean.

To prevent water reaching your foot, all waterproof styles are fitted with internal waterproof membranes, which sit inside the shoe construction. Regatta have two levels of waterproof membranes - our standard offer and Isotex. Isotex is a waterproof and highly breathable bootee membrane specifically developed for Regatta. It is independently tested to ensure it offers exceptional breath ability, wind proofing and waterproofing.
