Footwear Guide
  • Walking boots need to be a half to full size larger than your normal foot size to allow for the wearing of walking socks.
  • The actual fitting shape of the boot is brand dependent - different brands will hold your feet differently.
  • Allow for a finger's width fitting down back of a walking boot when wearing but before lacing up.
  • The boot shouldn't have any noticable pressure points or tight spots - there is no such thing as 'breaking in' a boot to loosen it up.
  • The ankle should feel restricted and supported in a way you are not used to at first.
  • Walking boots will always feel stiffer to wear.
  • Zamberlan & Scarpa brands have an overall narrower fitting.
  • Merrell in general tend to be shorter, so for normal fitting, get a size larger.
  • The Meindl Matrei is our widest boot - perfect for anyone who requires a wide fitting.
  • Shoe-style footwear and sandals have a regular fit and size.

The air-conditioned footwear. The innovation for optimum conditions in the boot and improved breath-ability.

The entire tongue is a combination of 3D mesh and a cushioning, reticulate, perforated sponge material that causes the pumping action. To achieve an anatomical shape, a stabiliser made from micro fleece is sewn on to the tongue. A very strong Velcro strap is integrated in the forefoot area and at the end of the tongue to secure the tongue.

More ventilation, more pump-action.

The technology of the Air Revolution line was further improved. In addition, a sock has been developed that is tailored to the function of the boot and makes the Air Revolution system perfect. The tongue now has newly defined ventilation ducts. The big ventilation perforation is on both sides and covered by mesh material . Thus, there is no impairment of ventilation or reduction of sturdiness. The waisted tongue adjusts perfectly to the shape of the foot. Also new are the reticulate, large-pored foams that are used and have a positive effect on adaptability.

When your feet push off the ground, warm air is pumped out of the boot and when your feet touch the ground again, fresh air is sucked into the boot. With each step that you take, air is recycled in your boot allowing your feet to remain cool hence enabling you to carry on walking in them for longer and being comfortable all along.
